As one who just replaced all the speakers inside my 540 with new MB Quart I speak from experience.

Did the speaker seat correctly? I know on my MB Quarts I had to put the metal adapter ring on BACKWARDS in order to mount the speaker correctly and securely.

Did you place the foam BACK OVER the woofer???? This is an absolute must, because of the midbass features of this speaker, it vibrates, and you don't want it vibrating against the plastic mesh grill of the door panel. You MUST put the stock foam back over the new speaker.
