Does anyone know if the 1998 528i sport only came with aluminium inserts instead of the regular wood trim. I have found a 528i sport advertised with wood interior and not the custom aluminium.
Also can someone please find pictures of the interior of a 1998 528i sport. And can a CD changer be added on to that car.
Thanks

Thank you for all your help.
Amir I am looking at the exact same car as yours.
How do you like it. Any regrets. I am used to driving an M3. will I be really disapointed or not with the sport package.
Do you guys recommend Jimmy's Xenon lights. I would like to add some Xenons but the cost is so high.
And how do you guys like the sound system in the 528i sport.
Thanks for all your help.

I drive a 1998 528i sport. Regarding the sound system, I think the speakers are terrible. When I have more time, I will definitely be doing some sort of upgrade - probably to the MB Quart setup. Check out the excellent installation instructions / pictures at http://www.nextmill.net/bmw540. There are separate installation instructions for front and rear.

Regarding the light bulbs, Jimmy's look intriguing but I am put off by the cost. I just ordered a set of Philips H7 VisionPlus bulbs from http://www.autolamps-online.com for $40.00 a pair, shipping included. I have not yet received them, so I cannot comment on the performance. But the price seemed much more reasonable, and the writeup was impressive (see also Philips' website).

As for the CD changer, I should be receiving my Pioneer 6-disc changer tomorrow from http://www.autotoys.com. Very inexpensive - the total with a spare magazine was well under $300, shipping included. I will let you know how it works.

Oh yeah, and my UUC short shifter should be here later in the week.

To sum things up, I think the 528 sport is a fine car, but my main beefs are the long shifter and the weak stereo. Both seem correctible for a modest price and a little bit of time.

Best of luck with your car.
