Earlier I posted a thread asking whether or not it is possible to install the proprietary software needed to make make my existing TimePort™ (P8167) compatible with the BMW interface? I unfortunately received this email from Motorola:

The CPT8000 integrated phones which BMW sells through its dealers are the
only phones capable of interfacing with BMW vehicles. The BMW CPT8000 and
your existing Timeport are similar but unfortunately, your phone does not
have the ability to interface with the car nor can it be upgraded.

Your only option would be to purchase a new Timeport though an authorized
BMW center. The BMW website address, www.bmwusa.com, can be used to find
the dealer nearest you.

Hope this helps. Please contact me with any additional questions.

This is especially frustrating because I have no interest in purchasing a new phone. I purchased the TimePort™ (P8167) because of the analog plan issues and the older models lack of many necessary features I need. On the brighter side of things, Sprint just introduced "voice command" technology which gives me one benefit of the CPT 8000. Also does the CPT 8000 have a blue indiglow screen similar to the one found on the P8167 or does it have the new color screen that is available on the P8767?
