I just bought the CD so I am not sure of what all the coses mean, but the parts cover BMW worldwide. I am in Tokyo and don't remember exactly what it was, but I did look up the 540. I will be back to LA this weekend and can send you more details if you want.

Does you disk list different M-suspension parts for different geographical regions? Also, which E39 model are you checking for?

I was looking at my ETK CD the other day because someone asked about differences between standard and sport suspension, and the ETK lists level I and Level II M suspension parts. But only one set of numbers were true "M" parts - I think it is the 5 digit and it is a "2" if it is a true M part. So I am also confused.

Robert: I am not aware that there are two different M Sport levels. I have the European 5 series brochures for 2001, and option code 704 for the suspension package is the same, whether it's U.S. or European. There is not other code AFAIK.

Does anyone know the difference between the Level I and the Level II M package sports suspension?
I have a 2000 model 540ia with the sports pakage. I don't know and would like to find out, which of the two "suspension levels" my car has for a suspension. Thanks for your response.
