First, to answer you questions:

1. Yes, the 528 has plenty punch for spirited driving!

2. While the 528 is noticebly heavier, the handling is just as good as the handling in 3-series. I have driven fast on curves that REALLY leaned my car, but traction and control of the vehicle remained strong.

3. The 528 is worth the extra money IMO.

4. The stock soundsystem in the 528 is TERRIBLE IMO, and the opinions of many others on this board!

Now, as for the vehicles you're interested in purchasing - You can get a brand new, well-equipped 330 for less than $39K. A reasonably equipped one may be somewhere @$37K...and you'll have lower interest rates than you would on a used vehicle - making the price cheaper or about the same. FYI, prices of the 330 packages will decrease starting March production (now basically), and more items are standard (Auto Climate Control, Power Seats, HK sound sytem). Also, you should be able to get a similarly equipped 00' 528 for cheaper than $39K also. Likewise for the 328i for $34K...there are many better deals.

...hope this helps. Email me if you have more questions.
