I used clay on my 540 and it does in fact clean off all those little bumps that you can never get rid of by washing / waxing. If you have any overspray from paint work it will get rid of that too (which is the basic purpose of it).
I have used Meguiars and do not recommend it because if you don't have it VERY WELL lubed with the final inspection it will adhere to your paint and is a pain to remove.
My recommendation is to get claybar from Zaino Bros. and also their wax products as well. Their claybar is stretchy like silly putty and thus does not come apart.

Note that you will put scratches in the finish if you don't follow instructions 1) Keep it lubed as you use it 2) Only use clean unsoild part of the clay and 3) If you drop it - throw it away and get a fresh piece.
