While in Germany, I picked up a pair of the European-standard outside mirrors. These are the convex type that optically bend out at the edges. I haven't installed them yet, but I will as soon as I get my car back from storage. I bought them at BMW Neiderlassung for about $80 for the pair. If you need the part numbers, I have the receipt at home.

Btw, these are not the folding, auto dimming electrchromatic mirrors. Those required new housings, and were too expensive.
