I guarantee you would have received much more by selling it in a different area. I have learned that prices vary a great deal around the country. You did not say where you are from, but I grew up in Gainesville and there is a reason the BMW dealership is also a Porsche/Audi/VW dealer and a small one at that: small market for those types of cars. The car is not really the problem, it's the lack of buyers like you said. You probably would have received your asking price or more here in San Diego. Also, it does sound like you overpayed a bit when you bought it last year.
