Excellent advice. I'm just going to the school, not racing, although if I enjoy it I certainly wouldn't mind coming back for more advanced training.

Thanks for the tip on Racer Wholesale. They've got a helmet I'm looking at for a lot cheaper than competitors (Bell RaceStar III for $217). I still need to find a place in the SF Bay Area to try them on.
