My wife was THRILLED when she sat in the car. She loved the extra leg room. She used to feel claustrophobic whenever she drove the 540i, but now she says it feels spacious. This modification was well worth the money (less than $400) and the 4 hours it took. Most of the time was spent messing around with photos, hunting for the right Torx tool, and figuring out how to remove panels, connectors, and the glovebox lock cylinder. The next one will be a snap! I can't give Eric Weber (SVTWEB) enough credit for his advice, parts list, and patience as I went through this. Thanks Eric!!

And for you eagle eyed folks, yes, I know there is still a trim panel missing on the passenger side and the steering column cover needs to be screwed in from below to eliminate the gap. And the glovebox door needs about 1/8" adjustment. I'll get to it. (After I have a beer!)
You know how you always end up with a few leftover parts when you finish a project? Well, I had a few ...

Now that I've got a normal looking glovebox in my car, the original one looks downright silly. Sort of like those ugly black platform shoes that most teenage girls are wearing these days. :-)
