My wife and I researched extensively before buying the 2001 525iA sedan. This included evaluations by private owners of various high-end brands, and third-party research by Consumer Reports, Edmunds, etc.. We test drove other vehicles (Volvo, Mercedes, etc.) before test driving the BMW. Once we drove the BMW, the only decision remaining was which BMW model to purchase.
