Ultra smooth at half-throttle, although the deep exhaust note makes it seem more noticable. Shifting is more noticable under hard (albeit pre-breaking friendly) acceleration, although that's what I'd expect. I'll keep you posted as I chalk up more miles.


Not yet. it's now over 600 miles.

Basically what I noticed is that if I start from the red light, I can clearly "feel" it's shifting thru gears. It's very fast, but very noticable. I'm surprised that you don't feel it at all.

I picked up my 2001 last week and I immediately noticed the shift pattern. I would relate it to the most perfect shift you could make with a manual trans. I think it is only noticeable by the noise. I'll be honest, I love my car so much, I think it makes it unique to the 530 and that is just fine with me.
