525 vs 528 (archive)

Hi
Iam debating between the 528 and 525. Just finished test driving a 525i 5sp, and a 530ia. I prefer the 525 5sp, although this could've changed if they had a 530 5sp. My question is since I haven't driven the 528, how does it compare to the 2001 525i, ie. to save my $. Thanks
