I think even the 528 starves for power, and the 525 has even less (although not by much). If I were choosing between a 2001 525 and a 2000 528, I would get the 528. You could get a new one at around invoice (there are a few left), or you could get a CPO car for $36-37K that would be under warranty for 6 yrs. 100K miles. Again, as with all of these subjective questions, that is just my opinion. And, don't forget the $600-700 to put 2001 headlights on the 528!
