In Reply to: Those Dreaded SEALS-Do the Felt Ones Work? posted by ThinRedLine on March 25, 2001 at 20:35:31:

At the risk of awaking the dead I have to bring up this dreaded subject 'cause I'm going in for warrenty work w/45k miles and may be my last chance to address this one. After reading archives etc it seems new seals (felt or otherwise)seem to fix for a while but don't always correct the problem permanently. So here's the question -

IS IT WORTH THE FIGHT?

Do the felt ones (I think these are the "updated type") really work? Will I have to fight the dealer (in MD) for this, or is it pretty much a given. Will removing and replacing with the Felt ones cause other problems like wind noise or other things related to disassembly/reassembly problems.

All feedback greatly appreciated!
