after 107,000 miles on horrible New England roads, my '97 528i no longer felt like a BMW. I put Bilsteins HD's on all 4 corners ( shocks plus installation came in under $1G). What a difference! The car rides stiffer, is quieter over bumps, and is more resonsive in handeling. I'm very pleased.
Just be careful about reconnecting AST/ABS sensors (see my post about AST/ABS warning lights on).
I also took my snow tires off today, so life is good again behind the wheel.

My mechanic told me that, with the multi-link suspension, installation is more complicated than on a 3 series.
