I could make all kinds of reasons about why I run 255/40-17s rear and 235/45-17s front on my Style 42 X-spokes, but the main reason I do is because I LOVE the look of wide and skinnies on a high-zoot European car.

With the somewhat limited "burnout HP" available on my '98 528i, I don't need that much rubber at the rear, but I dig the way it looks!
