To go the extra yard, I'd use a cheapo speaker terminal cup from Radio Shack instead of just putting the monster cable through the cabinet. I've been told that even with silicone holding the cable in place there can be air leaks.

The key is to make the hole JUST BIG ENOUGH for the cable, then silicone that puppy on all sides and from the inside and outside big time. There will not be an airleak.
The reason I AVOID those terminal units is they do not transmit power as efficiently as a straight cable would. Most stereo shops will not place those connectors on a box. If you look at them, they do not clamp down well on the wire, they are very shitty metal, basically its not the best solution compared to running a small hole, wire thru the hole, and caulking it up with silicon.
