on when you purchased the car. I don't know what the cutoff date is, but the newer policy is what is usually called (by BMWNA) a "named exclusion" policy. This type of plan specifically names what is "not covered", and the rest is covered. The previous plan names only the specific components covered (covered component plan), and all else is not. Check it out because it makes a huge difference. I think you'll be OK with the latter plan, but the former leaves many holes in coverage that you might want to be protected from by an additional warranty, depending on the price.
