Hello,

If you have tried 1001 different back support products, you might want to consider seeing a doctor or a physical therapist for their recommendation on what kind of support you need.

I have many problems with my lower spine and went through what you are experiencing about 5 years ago. It got progressively worse, until I just couldn't get comfortable sitting for long periods of time - anywhere - my Jeep GCL, my wife's e36 328iA, work, home, etc. So, I went to my neurosurgeon, and he sent me to a physical therapist. She gave me (a $100) back "pillow" - that I carried religiously with me until I lost it in a cab in Vancouver. Oops. Once I knew what I needed, I went to the Relax the Back store and replaced it with a perfectly acceptable $30 pillow. I was back in business.

Then, I got my Comfort Seats! Once I got them adjusted correctly - no more back pilow. I highly recommend them. I can stay in the car for 10+ hours without major discomfort without a pain-in-the-rear back pillow that doesn't stay in place. I would literally be in the hospital if I tried that in our 328iA!

FYI, I have the top half of the seat as far back as it will go and the lumbar support about 90% as high as it will go and about half way forward.

Sorry for being so long-winded, but I hope this helps you make your decision.

Folks,

Love my used 528. it's a 2000 with only 5500 miles on it now.

I have one HUGE problem. The seats suck. WHen I test drove the car they seemed fine but I am often in the car for an hour plus at a time and they are killing my back. I drove a friends 540 today (wow what a car) and he has comfort seats. I loved them. I have to get them.

I want to see if I can order comfort seats for my car. I see 3 problems.

1. They don't make the 528 anymore. Are the 530 seats the same?

2. Can I order seats and have them installed? I would think so. I have sand interior so they may be tough to get.

3. This has to be a nightmare in terms of cost. Has anyone ever changed out seats after they bought the car??? Can it be done? Is so, what is the cost?

My last option is getting rid of the car and getting a new one but that is a last resort. This car is perfect for me except these damn seats. Help!!!!
