my COMFORT seats are KILLING my back....so (m) (archive)

...make sure you really like them before doing something as drastic as ordering new seats. Just picked up my new 530 last Tuesday, and my back is killing me in the lumbar region BECAUSE of the lumbar support. I have it totally deflated and it still feels like I'm leaning my back against a log. I hope I find a position that is comfortable, because right now, for the extra $$, I don't think the name "comfort seats" is appropriate...

Love my used 528. it's a 2000 with only 5500 miles on it now.

I have one HUGE problem. The seats suck. WHen I test drove the car they seemed fine but I am often in the car for an hour plus at a time and they are killing my back. I drove a friends 540 today (wow what a car) and he has comfort seats. I loved them. I have to get them.

I want to see if I can order comfort seats for my car. I see 3 problems.

1. They don't make the 528 anymore. Are the 530 seats the same?

2. Can I order seats and have them installed? I would think so. I have sand interior so they may be tough to get.

3. This has to be a nightmare in terms of cost. Has anyone ever changed out seats after they bought the car??? Can it be done? Is so, what is the cost?

My last option is getting rid of the car and getting a new one but that is a last resort. This car is perfect for me except these damn seats. Help!!!!
