In 1999 BMW went to a standardized conector for the seats so and 1999 seat can swap with any other 1999 and later seat. The only exception to this is if the car (E38) has active seat. Then you need to run 2 wires from each seat to the switching center, and replace the switching center with the one that includes Active seat.
