one more thing... that wiring harness also incorporates 2 more high density connectors (both 10 pin). one of these turns into a 6 pin connector at the CD changer. this is where the analog audio from the changer feeds in to the Alpine preamp. the second is where audio from the Nav/TV come in and get mixed.

the 17 pin portion is the same as older BMWs, e.g., E34, 3ers etc.

look inside your trunk, in the audio compartment. the silver box just behind the left tail light is the Alpine radio/tuner. it's just like a standard in-dash radio receiver, except that the faceplate is detached and connected to the BMW I-Bus. the big wiring harness attached to that is the 17pin connector i'm talking about.

here's the full pinout.

10. GAL - Vehichle speed

13. Dash light dim (N/C i think)

We have a 15, 18, and 26, are you referring to the 18 pin connector for your pinouts?
1. LF+

16. Antenna (for turning on your outboard amp)
