I've driven no less than ten E39's, and they've all had that little "ting, ting" coming from the B-pillar. I was warned about it before I ever drove an E39, so I paid particular attention. It used to bother me, but now I just have learned with it. The crappy cupholder bothers me more. I just had a Coke in a fast food cup fall out of the "can" holder and spill on the console last week, and it really pissed me off.
