Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem.
What year is your car, and do you have the nav system?

1998, produced 5/98. Yes, I have Nav. Yes, I also had to upgrade my pre-wiring for digital.

The only thing that I can think of is that maybe I need to update my navigation system software. Again, I have a MY99, produced 3/99 with pre-wiring for the analog phone.

GOod thought. I'll check my SW version this morning and report back. Can you do the same? I've heard from others with the CPT8000 that they don't have the problem with BMW assist.

If ANYONE out there has the CPT8000 + Nav and are NOT experiencing this problem, can you post your Nav software version? Go to the nav MENU, select SET and look at the number at the upper right of the screen. Thanks!

If you leave the phone in the cradle, then turn the engine off and leave the car, does the phone turn off? Mine does not, although the manual says that it will to preserve the car's battery...

I'll check, but I recall that it didn't turn off too. I'm not really concerned because the digital phone probably sips minute amounts of juice. THink about how long modern phones go between charges. I doubt that I would leave the phone in the cradle if I was going out of town, or not driving for days on end.

I'll keep an eye on the car's battery charge, though.
