cost of servicing after 70K miles (more) (archive)

my 540 is going out of warranty around middle of the coming year. Been thinking about buying an extended warranty but don't know if it's worth it. What typical costs besides regular maintenance could I be looking at, barring major problems, and what do they cost? What about the water pump? I guess since it's a timing chaing I should be ok for a while, right?
