It would seem that it would be better if the compressor stayed on, and the temp was adjusted by increasing or decreasong the amount of heat mix with the A.C.

Anyone have a fix for this, or is that just how it works?

Thanks

Actually this is how it does work.

The compressor runs most of the time, but is cycled off if the temp "of the evaporator" gets low enough that it might freeze up. And this cut-off temp changes according to the outside temperature. In cooler weather it cuts off about 3 C (measured at the evaporator) to keep it from freezing. In warmer weather it does not shut off till about 1C.

The interior temperature is then controlled by re-heating the air after it has passed over the evaporator. Heated according to the temp setting.

But there are a number of other factors that can cause the compressor to cut off
- high coolant temp (no storage of messages)
- low engine speed
- abnormal pressure in coolant system
- full acceleration

But your operation seems to be a bit odd if you are getting muggy air with the A/C on.

Suggest you have it diagnosed - dealer hook up the DIS system and test the operation.

Cheers
