I just replaced the water pump on my 97 540/6 at North Bay Bavarian for a reasonable $445.00. I suspect that other things will have to be replaced over time, however, I feel that the extra $2500.00 or more for an extended is an expensive insurance policy. I will take my chances and spend the extra on performance goodies.
