You've got plenty of time. I picked up my "twin" baby boys from the hospital in my brand new '98 528 sport and traveled back and forth between Vancouver and Calgary (about 600 miles) numerous times looking for a small town to live in. Two months prior to the birth we had arrived from living overseas for 9 years so we were basically living out of the car for the first 4 months of their lives until we bought a place in Canmore, Alberta. Bottom line- The E39 has tons of room, safe and more fun to drive than any of the alternatives. Only downside was sun control which was dealt with by movable shades. When the child gets old enough to start messing up your car by spilling or touching do what we did get a second vehicle dedicated to kids, camping and various other messy activities. In our case a 2000 Windstar. One last point. My wife and I honestly beleive that our now 3 year old boy's balance, coordination and need for speed was a direct result of them being strapped into their infant car seats with dad ripping through the Rockies, safely of course.

A couple questions:
We are expecting a baby due at the end of the year, so I will probably have to sell my 98 540 sport. Its loaded to the gills(everything except navigation-if they had it that year)...has 36,000 and bought certified used to 100,000 miles.
So my questions:
a. Is the warranty transferable?
b. What do you think its worth, and best way to sell?
Thanks,
Brandon "Looking for Wagon"...
