Question about wheel hubs & thrust arm bushings... (archive)

I've got to change my front left wheel bearing. Do they have to be replaced in pairs? Also, is it easy to remove without the special BMW wheel hub remover? Secondly, if I've never changed my thrust arm bushings before, is it easy to remove without again... the BMW bushing press? Or should I just get the whole thrust arm with the bushings installed? Bavauto is my usual supplier. Any and all info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
