Thanks Andy. Some additional questions inline ...

Some answers below your questions

1. The sub amp accepts RCA inputs - where should this be coming from? Which wires?
You need an amp that will take speaker level inputs not RCA. There are some speaker level to RCA converters on the market but in my experience the sn ratio with these is terrible.

This surprises me. My amp is not the greatest, but don't most high quality amps have RCA inputs rather than speaker level inputs? How are others hooking up a sub? Also, do you know which wires I would be using as inputs?

2. Is a crossover necessary to filter out the higher frequencies from the sub?
The output from the DSP to the 2 Nokia subs is filtered by the DSP so no crossover is required (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Does anyone know what frequency range is sent to the 2 Nokia subs?

3. Can I leave all other existing speakers hooked up as is?
yes

4. Should I connect the positive from the amp directly to the battery (with a fuse in between)?
you should place a fuse of appropriate rating between the amp and the battery. Make sure you use nice 2 or 4 guage cable if you don't want to set fire to that nice bimmer. You will also need to take a feed for the amp switch from something else that is switched by the ignition.

2 or 4 gauge cable seems pretty big. I think my amp has an 8 gauge. Is that not sufficient?

Any additional tips and/or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Chris
