Look what you just wrote. In one sentence you say the veins should cup (which would entail the veins slashing forward, thereby grabbing air and bringing it underneathe towards the caliper). And then in the next sentence, you say that the veins should be slashing backwards, which would mean that air would actually be trying to move the opposite direction that the wheel is and rotor are spinning.

Which is it? By the way, the picture that Brembo has -- in the instructions -- shows the veins moving away, or facing the opposite direction that the wheel is spinning. If you have your rotor veins facing towards the front of the car, then you have them backwards.

Lastly, it is impossible to tell from pictures which way the veins are directed. You can't tell from a side view -- you actually have to be above the rotor, looking from above, so that you can which direction they are going. The direction of the cross-drilled holes has nothing to do with the veins.

I imagine that a few of us will be calling Brembo this morning. LOL.

Take care, all.

FOR THE LAST TIME... I spoke with a guy by the name of Jim from Brembo (yes he works at Brembo), the veins are supposed to be going the other way around? Why? Because that way, the rotors cup the air so that it cools the calipers. Call Brembo and find out for yourself, but please do it RIGHT. The truth is it has nothing to do with the veins at all, HOWEVER, the rotors are designed so that they'll vent the air correctly, WHEN they are installed with the veins slashing backward.

Regards,

Charles

PS These are not 993 brakes as far as I know. They are the F50 style 14" brakes, and they are the same ones that Jimmy and I are running on our cars. Once again, they should be backwards from the way they are seen in the picture above.
