I just want to know how much boost can be run on that motor at 10.2:1 compression w/ an intercooler.

With 10.2:1, you can probably run 8psi or so. Depends upon your degree of intercooling (water-to-air provides best cooling, but is more complex), ignition and fuel controls. Audis can run max 15psi boost on 9.5:1 compression.

Also cam-timing is very, very important. You want a cam with MINIMAL (5-10 degrees max) overlap or else all your boost is going out the tailpipe.

The best turbo engines are the ones designed from the beginning to be turbocharged. They have things like hollow sodium-filled exhaust valves, ceramic-lined exhaust ports and headers, extra-strong forged rods and pistons. You'll need an upgraded cooling system as well.

Then there's the issue of fuel management. How will you deliver the extra fuel when you have positive manifold pressure? You should also have a system to retard ignition timing based upon the boost level.

You'll also have to add a vacumn storage tank to power pneumatic solenoids, brakes and other things that uses vacumn when you're on boost.

etc.. etc... I recommend Corky Bell's book Maximum Boost
