Whenever I go on long trips I take the McLaren F1. I figure, it's a pain in the ass after about the 3rd hour, but after so many years driving the Bentley, it's just become boring without a little speed.

As far as M3 vs. 5 series handling... Ask JFrench. She apparently wasn't impressed with the M3.

Just came back from Las Vegas and San Fransisco. I drove my CLK 430 and 530 i (Sport Package) for each trip. I'm on the list for my M3, and I'm thinkung to get the SMG 2.
I really satisfied with the handling of my 530 i. At first, I drove my CLK 430, when I ran 100 the car feels like very fast and very uncomfortable. Kind of scary to touch 100 or maybe more. The second trip I drove my 530 i. Well I really surprised with the ride. I drove almost 100 all the way to SF which I felt like 80. Felttt sooo good om my 530 i. Sometimes I touched 128 easily (limiter). Luckily no police caught me. Last time I drove my 328 i E46 which already modified, put 19" hartge rims and H&R race spring and it felt not very firm on the road and not as good as the CLK 430 or 530i.

Well i just wondering if you guys have any experience on 530 i or 5 series and the new M3. How is ride and handling, I know M3 should have better handling especially on the corner. I test drove the M3 already, felt more bumpy, maybe firm the way to say it, but how is the ride on the long freeway like LA to SF? Can you guys help me to define the new M3? Might be thinking to get used M5!
