Instruction.
1. Make sure you car's wheel and steering wheel are straight. Turn off the engine and remove the key.
2. Move the steering wheel all the way down and outward.
3. Disconnect the battery
4. Behind the steering wheel there are two torque Wrench bit. Turn those counter clockwise to remove the airbag.
5. Make sure that you are grounded.
6. Remove the airbag connector (yellow), and multi-function connector (white).
7. Carefully put the airbag away.
8. Remove the center bolt.
9. Take out the steering wheel.
10. Bolt on the new steering wheel using a torque wrench.
11. re-connect the SRS and multifunction connectors.
12. For M5 SRS, simply push in the SRS. For sports package SRS, re-tighten the torque wrench bit in the back of the steering wheel.
13. Have dealer reset the SRS lights.
Also, to answer Bob's claim that SRS will not work. I have included 2 pictures. One is before the engine is started, the SRS warning light is on (it will go away in 1-2 second, normal check during engine start). The second picture clearly shows that the engine is running and SRS light is gone.
