To condense a rather long story, between 1976 and 1980 my daily driver was a 95 point, self-restored (all except the tranny and bodywork) 1967 Porsche 911s (2 liter, webers, awesome) and drove 45 miles each way to work on a very open, very new 4-lane highway with sugar cane fields alongside the road for maybe 10 of the 45 miles.

One early morning I'm tooling down the road at 75 when this crop dusting biplane no more than feet off the ground is coming at me perpendicular to the road. He banks right ahead of me and starts spraying the fields just alongside the road maybe 200 feet abreast of me....I wave, he wags wings, I drop two gears, mash it and just blast the hell away from him.

Last I saw of him in the rear-view mirror he was wagging his wings again and flashing landing light on and off -but those were NOT passing signals! :o)
