Folks were driving down the Mulsanne staight in the 50's (when it WAS straight) at speeds in excess of 160 with far less capable aerodynamics than a stock BMW sedan or coupe.

Aero devices make the vehicle more stable at speed, but rarely inhibit straight line performance. Both M cars have the power to exceed 160 and they come equipped with suitable tires.

The prudence of traveling that fast is another issue. Even on the autobahn, those Beetles start filling the windshield pretty fast.
