First, a big thanks to Agent99 (aka Chris), Dave Z., &
Dan B! And to everyone that brought donuts.

My nephew Charlie is a real BMW nut (comes from having a Mom who drives a '01 740i Sport while Dad drives a '00 323Ci Sport). When he found out where I was headed he had to come along. He loved the cars and was impressed meeting DanB and his Supercharged 540i. Thanks guys for entertaining his many questions. We had a great time.

As for the car, 98 528i - wow! The wife and I drove to Petaluma factory stores today to try out the new clutch (actually it was to visit her loved ones - Coach and Jones New York - ouch!). The car was a joy to drive. It now has an honest to goodness clutch that is direct and smooth. Shifts were much smoother and the car seemed to accelerate through the gears like a real sports sedan. Just click-click-click-click! Up shift. Down shift. All smooth and immediate. There's nothing like a manual gearbox on a Sonoma county road when all the pieces work right. It felt so good. What was BMW thinking? I mean it's not like the 2.8 is going to tear up the drivetrain. We highly recommend this modification. I think my wife put it best - it's really good to be driving a "real clutch" again.

Thanks guys for making our 528i much more of an Ultimate Driving Machine.
