I am moving to Ramstein AB Germany for at least 3 years and am taking my 2001 530 with me. I need help trying to figure out how to take the speed governor etc off so I can run with the big dogs on the autobahn. I know I need higher rated tires. What else? Different exhaust?

Thanks

If you haven't contacted the dealer where you bought the car from, see if your sponsor can get you a number for the BMW dealer in K-town. You may be able to get it done once you get the car there. I was stationed at Geilenkirchen for 5 years with my 3 series. I wish I had took advantage of the oopportunity to equip my car with AC Schnitzer accessories. It will cost you an international call, but it may be worth it. My '97 528i has the DINAN software installed that removed the governor. If nothing pans out here, I would say wait till you get the car there. There are so many things you can do and still stay within U.S. specs. Don't be surprised if you're outran by a Euro 530. Their cars have a lot LESS performance robbing stuff installed. Hope this helps. Give me a call if I can be of further assistance (940) 224-4937.

Norman
