Ever since I bought my 1997 540ia (new) it had a leak where the oil filter lines inter the engine through the motor mount. It seems to be getting worse. Does anyone have a diagram or info on what it would take to replace the seals behind the motor mount where it inters the block. It looks difficult, but would appriciate any info in this area. I tucked a hand towel just under the motor mount to soak up the oil. Not major mroblem yet, but would like to know what it would take to fix it. Thanks for any info or diagrams. I was surprised to find that the filter oil lines are bolted to the top of the driver side motor mount next to the block. Then the oil passes through the motor mount into the engine. This is an interesting design that would be great to know about.
