Wash the car and wax the same day in the shade. Cloudy day would be great. Don't go in a circular motion like you've always heard . Try to go in straight lines in a front of car to back of car direction using cotton cloth when appling wax and when taking it off. This will not show scratches in the night light. Use Kit "carnauba wax". Never use any polishes, these have petroleum distilates which look good at first, but later soak into the paint causing oxidation. Going in a sraight line with clean cotton cloths will keep it like show room. A BMW magazine brought this to my attention. Waxing is better than doing nothing, because it will repell dirt, droppings, and sap from trees.

Will it mess up the paint or anything? I want to put a coat to protect it from the elements. Heard a couple people say it's not too good to be waxing the paint...Thanks.
