Airflow meter adjustment (archive)

Hello guys, I have a e28 5-series which has an idle problem. It's reving up and down at idle. The mechanic says the airflow meter needs to be adjusted. I have no idea how to do it and I can't access the e28 board for some reason. So please if anyone knows how to do it I will be greatful for some advice.
