Jim - 1,500 liters is just under 400 gallons. I'll use 400 to ease the math here, but even if I use a 25mpg average (which I do not get, I am closer to 22-23), using your 1,500 liters should bring me to 10,000 miles. I am at 12,500+ - and even if I again use the 25mpg avarage we are looking at just under 1,900 liters (over 2,000 if I use my actual avg. mpg of 23).

So, it would seem to me like the computer is looking for the use of 2,000 liters rather than 1,500.

Is there a way to adjust (as you can adjust the mpg calc, etc) the fuel usage and affect the oil change intervals?

David

The way the system accounts for your driving style is by tracking how much fuel you use. The SI interval is based "strictly" on fuel usage. Each car is assigned a base amount of fuel 9IE 1500 litres), and when you have burned through that much fuel the SI orange indicator comes on.

The fuel usage is measured by the engine computer - cumulative timing of the injector pulse durations.

In theory you could get the SI light on and never drive a single mile - if you let it idle through teh fuel amount (sort of difficult to do unless you had a local fuel supply.)

Cheers
Jim Cash
