My gripe w/ my 99 540iA w/ spt pkg is heavy steering during parking, and overly light steering at high speeds. it should be the other way around! I recently got together w/ a bunch of friends and had a chance to drive many cars, including econoboxes like E320, Mazdas, ML430, to others like Boxster, 330Ci, and SLK320. The 540 had FAR more steering effort than all the others. I was shocked at the difference. W/ all other cars it was so easy to steer at parking speeds. My 540 feels like a f*#(ing pig when parking. Also, at highway speeds the steering is not accurate and responsive enough, there is definitely some free play in the middle and steering suddenly gets very light at high speeds.. is there ANY WAY to remedy this?
