8000 miles and already time for new ones. should i stay with stock tires or try something new?

I have ordered Kuhmo ECSTA 712 from tirerack.com. I don't have experience with them but have read good things. My order for four tires was about $470 including shipping. Here is a post from the Boxter board http://64.38.155.225/boards/986/main.pl?read=403474
