BMWNA charged dealer $15,000 because of brakes? (archive)

A dealer told me that BMW NA recently charged them $15,000 because they had been replacing brake pads for customers under warranty because customers were complaining about squealing.

The dealer only wants to replace now if the pads are prematuraly worn down and to hell with the squeal. Squealing is suppose to come under the category of somewhat acceptable for cars already sold.

You guys hear anything about this?
