Warranty is a profit center for anyone that works with new cars - both dealers and rent-a-car companies. A well run dealer (from a profit perspective) will always look for warranty work. So, in for scheduled service, dealer asks do your brakes ever squeal? Since many will say yes, why not replace the pads and charge BMW while they change the oil.
