I had exact same problem a few weeks ago. What's even funnier is that I'm 6'3", and my wife's only 5'5", so I feel your pain! :-(
My solution was replacing the D/S seat switch, which had failed. I picked up a brand new one for $30 bucks on ebay. (I also had to replace the seat panel at a cost of $100, which was broken..I also weigh 270lbs!!. My mechanic says it's a common problem.(?) Good luck.
