First, I removed each wheel and thoroughly cleaned it inside and out with P21S Gel Wheelcleaner (there is a liquid and get...see www.carcareonline.com and look under P21S).

While it is off the car, that is the time to wax inside and out. I dumped a some Sonax Liquid Hardwax (see same website) into a good spray bottle and sprayed the wheels with a good coat, let it dry, and buffed it off.

Depending on how much brake dust is caked on your wheels, it might take a bit to get them clean. I wouldn't be surprised if it took you 1 hour per wheel to throughly clean and wax.

So, yes, this can kill a good part of your Saturday but here is the treat for all that hard work (beside your wheels looking incredible...for 2-3 days until insides get caked again), when you wash your wheels, they will clean so much easier and so much faster!

For instance, I haven't gotten around to washing my car for a good 5-6 weeks (yeah, I've been BUSY, okay!!) but tonight I finally had time. The front wheels were thick with crud! A quick spray with the garden hose washed 90% of the dust off and several wipes with a small sponge finished them off. Max time was 5 minutes per wheel...maybe.

From what I can tell, this wheel waxing should happen quarterly or so...you know when the dust doesn't come off so easy that it is time to wax them again.

Good Luck

Chris
