Porsche board isn't as active as ours and I'm looking for some info. I'm hoping that enough of you have driven various versions of 911's and can help.

I'm in the market for a used 993/996 (probably 993 due to the higher cost of a 996) and am in need of opinions on C2, C4, C2S, C4S, Cab/Coupe drivability. I'm basically looking for an impractical, fun weekender.

Other than body additions, what mechanical differences are there with an "S", if any?

Is the cab just as good a driver as a coupe (stiffness)?

I've been told that the C4 may be less "fun" to drive than a C2, but is more "civilized". Comments? I know both the 993 and 996 aren't as tail-happy as the older 911's (grew up wanting an early 80's SC).

Any warnings on what MY to avoid?

Also, if you know of any Porsche boards like this one that is active I'd appreciate the link.

Thanks.
